Background
Prior to joining MBB, Andrew was employed with the Kwa-Zulu Natal Department of Agriculture KZNDAEA for a period of 2 years. The KZNDAEA focused on small scale social development projects. Andrew has 9 years engineering experience and since joining MBB Andrew has primarily been based on sites outside of South Africa, on sugar estates in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia where he has developed from an assistant site agent to a full site agent. The nature of the developments worked on have ranged from Greenfield irrigation developments, involving land clearing, land preparation, the establishment of pump stations, canals, power networks, road networks, and installation of infield water reticulation and irrigation, to vertical expansion developments on existing estates through the improvement of irrigation and drainage infrastructure.

When in South Africa, Andrew has assisted on the design aspects for these developments, with a primary focus on the drainage networks. Andrew has also been involved in the design of the irrigation infrastructure, pump station, reservoirs and bulk water supply infrastructure. From March 2013 to December 2015 Andrew has been involved with the construction of the Imvutshane Dam, a R220,000,000 million rand project. Andrew was the Resident Engineer on site and managed a team of Engineers and technicians. Andrew’s skills include a proficiency in surveying as well as software programmes required for design, CAD, GIS, and Microsoft word processor and spreadsheets.
