MBB often receives requests from students looking for vocational training and internships. These requests are typically from students looking to obtain practical work experience or in-service training as required in order to obtain their diploma or degree. Our latest student to have been with MBB was Mr. Percy Chauke. Percy, who is currently a student at UKZN, has been a regular presence at our Pietermaritzburg office during the vacations. Percy graduates in 2020 with his BSc degree in Agricultural Engineering.
MBB acknowledge the importance of vocational training, especially for young people who come from areas that experience poverty or from backgrounds that have experienced difficulty. More than that, we see the difference that our interest in their lives can make and in so doing we are able to help young people find their feet in the profession. Each person has a story, and we love to share in these peoples development into engineers who will “make a difference,” in line with our company’s motto “Making a difference, changing lives.”
Percy was born and raised in Hammankraal, Pretoria, as an only child. He lost his parents while still at primary school, but he was blessed to have the belief and support of his grandparents, who raised him, together with a few key individuals. Percy asserts that “they believed me and supported my dreams throughout life’s challenges.”
MBB is privileged to have been a part of Percy’s journey to graduation and we are confident he will continue to follow his dreams, and make a difference.
