At the time of writing, the construction of the 2 046 bed student residences for the University of Fort Hare at the Alice Campus was progressing steadily, with completion due in September 2020. To date nine of the seventeen buildings have been completed and handed over to the University and the students are enjoying use of this modern accommodation. The next three buildings were due for handover on 26th March 2020, but due to the advent of COVID-19 this deadline is likely to be extended.
Work in progress on all the remaining 8 residential buildings and the student centre are all at varying stages of completion as shown in the following photographs.
