MBB was appointed for the civil services, structural design and construction monitoring of the New Mathematical Education Centre for the Diocesan School for Girls (DSG) in Makhanda. The Mathematical Education Centre is comprised of a double story, 8 classrooms, brick and mortar building, located on the site of the original IT and Printing Hub which was demolished to make way for the new building.  Construction was completed over 12 months and required attention to detail and innovation to overcome the combined challenges of construction adjacent to existing buildings, with limited space within the heart of a fully functioning school.

MBB’s relationship with the DSG is a long one, with MBB having been involved with the design and construction of several of the school’s hostel facilities, new Junior School, Dance Studio, Astro-Turf field and Indoor Aquatic Centre.
